Duke to lead $50 million study of COVID-19 prevention in healthcare workers

(Duke University) A new rapid-response study led by Duke University's Clinical Research Institute will evaluate whether hydroxychloroquine can prevent COVID-19 infections in healthcare workers at high risk of contracting the coronavirus. The $50 million Healthcare Worker Exposure Response and Outcomes (HERO) research program was announced today by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
